Radio #6 - Never give up! cũng là radio cuối cùng được Ms Hoa TOEIC chọn lọc từ rất nhiều Ước mơ được gửi về trong tháng 7/2013. Những bạn có ước mơ chưa may mắn được chọn vào những Ước mơ ấn tượng nhất thì cũng đừng buồn nhé! Bởi có ước mơ đã là một điều rất đáng trân trọng, và quan trọng là các bạn dám ước mơ, dám theo đuổi nó, và biết rằng còn rất nhiều những bạn trẻ khác cũng đang đi trên con đường "Chase the dreams" giống mình!

I’m a sophomore at a financial university, but, only 5 years ago, I was so happy when I got into the biology class at a specialized high school. Yeah, they’re directly opposite but it’s true. My grandma usually says: “Life always brings to you something that you can NOT imagine” and now I really understand it, I got it.

Formerly, I didn’t understand why I hated finance too much. Maybe because my Mom used to be an accountant. Everynight, she had to calculate accounts again, and when she discovered a mistake, she was extremely stressed, hot-tempered then had to start all again from the beginning. I felt this work was too boring. I thought it was just around meaningless figures, dry and uncreative. Moreover, I was quiet and inactive by nature. Thus, I realized that finance wasn’t suitable for me, so I hated it!!! (That’s this ^^)

Instead of that, all my love spent for biology. I fell in love with it when I was 14. It’s my life’s love J. I was extremely excited about researching the human body. It likes a new, strange and mystery land that I want to discover. I wanted to know how the food is digested, how neurons transfer information, how the endocrine system works…how, how and how…. I wanted to know all of those things, so I determined to take the test for biology class at province’s specialized high school. It was really, really difficult so I just learned, learned and learned. I crushed up all biology books I had. Anytime, anywhere, there was only knowledge of biology in my head and finally, I passed. Don’t need to talk, you know how I was so happy. However, the greatest thing was that I found my dream there – I wanted to be a pharmacist. At high school, I paid attention to dangerous diseases. I was learned about the mechanism of causing diseases, and also saw many pitiful situations that they caused for people. Therefore, I wanted to find specific medicines and treatments which can protect human’s health better. I don’t want to lose anyone so I chose Pharmaceutical university. I still remember that day when I made my decision, I felt that everything was more bright, more beautiful; my heart beat more strongly, my breath was faster and I understood that: “my life only spends for this work”. Like fire added fuel, it burned my soul, appropriated all my brain; I crashed my head into learning. When you have a purpose, there’s no challenge you can’t get over, just keep moving, chase it and take it. Finally, I did it. I screamed aloud when I knew I passed. I totally sunk in happiness.

Everything was happening very well for me so far. However, the way to dream is never full of roses. Unfortunately, there was a big rock in my way. First is the cost. Compare to learn at financial university (luckily, I passed 2 universities of finance and pharmacy), if I had chosen Pharmaceutical university, the cost would have been much higher. It would be a burden for my family, for my Dad, I really didn’t want to make him more tired. Nevertheless, the reason disappointing me most is the truth that after graduating, almost pharmaceutical students become pharmaceutical sales representative. It isn’t different from marketing in finance, you can have a high salary but in other side, this work isn’t respected (many reasons L). Furthermore, it’s NOT my dream. In fact, there’re only a few students choosing the way of preparing medicines, but they have to accept an unstable life with a low salary. Accordingly, I realized that I could not get my dream by this way, it was possible but what about future, what about my family. I wanted to live with my dream to make it real, NOT to die of hunger by it. I was a total wreck that day. I felt like all my efforts were meaningless; like a ship was lost in the midst of the ocean: aimless and hopeless.
Luckily, at that moment, I read the story of Heinrich Schliemann who discovered Troy. Then, I wondered “why don’t I follow him?”. Thus I decided to study at financial university. I’ll try to learn well then apply for a job in a international pharmaceutical company. I can approach modern technology and precious experiences in preparing medicines, things that I can’t find at university and national companies. I also can have a good salary. When I have enough all things, I’ll make my dream come true. By this way, I can save money for my Dad and make it by myself. It can be longer and harder but more real. As long as I don’t give up, it’ll come true.

Have to learn what you hate is really difficult. However, everytime I thought about my dream and my family, I reminded myself to keep moving forward. Gradually, I found the interest in finance. Now, I know those figures aren’t meaningless, they also know to talk. I’m excited to learn how to raise, allocate and use the capital by the most effective way. I go on trying my best and I can feel my dream is getting closer and closer to me than ever.

Your life’ll be more meaning if you have a dream. It’s our motivation to help us cope with anything J. There’re many ways to get your dream and life often gives you the hard way. Nonetheless, anyway, the end of them is always your dream. Consequently, DO NOT WORRY, DO NOT WAVER, LET’S KEEP MOVING FORWARD AND MAKE YOUR DREAM COME TRUE. My way also isn’t a straight way, but I believe I’ll reach the finish. Do not know what will happen in the future, but there’s 1 thing I can make sure: “I NEVER GIVE UP MY DREAM”.
